I would imagine the pizza delivery man (thanks Mike), cab driver & other
civilians gaining access to military bases are going to come under increased
scrutiny.

Interestingly the "Eagle Eyes" program isn't mentioned in the press release
BUT I've got to wonder if the undisclosed initially reporting party had some
ties with the military. Now surely again, us/we "good guy or gal" hobbyists,
just want to hang around the military/ joint military/civilian
airport/airfield fence line, with camera(s), binoculars, note pad/pen, radio
scanners, etc... just waiting to watch/photograph/video those magnificent
military aircraft take off, land, or perform some low level flight
manuvers.... Unfortunately, all of our equipment & actions noted makes us
the poster boy or girl for "Eagle Eyes Program" reporting, which I will
assume will take on an added importance after this recent NJ incident.
Some hobbyists are VERY fortunate in that they are close enough to
base/airport take/landing & local pattern zones to be able to at least take
some pictures, watch, & radio monitor military flight activities without
causing any security concerns.... Of course also attending an
airshow/military opening house in your geographic area is another way to
enjoy the "on scene" hobby. An excellent source for airshow events, both
large & small can be found at the International Council of Airshows site:
http://www.airshows.org/list_events.php

BUT for those of you that are up to the true excitement of conducting some
OVERT "on scene" activity in the northeast & elsewhere; remember to tune
your FRS radio to FRS Channel 14 (467.7125 mhz) with CTCSS 38 (250.3 hz)
and/or the alternate frequency/ctcss FRS Channel 7 (462.7125 mhz) CTCSS 15
(110.9 hz) & just give a callout in simple language "any other milcom/milair
hobbyists in the area?", you may be pleasantly surprised to find someone who
has like interests close by!!!! :)

See ya all at the fence line (but please remember to bring your driver's
license, picture id, vehicle registration, etc.) ;)

Ken
