7703z was active at 0125z+/- with FOXTROT ZERO SIERRA (good
levels in local switching powersupply qrn) bcsting at least a
28-character EAM (missed preamble and string), another 28-character
EAM (ZBEYGC), an unusual 30-character 888800 string (eight eight eight
zero zero),and the 22-character 4WDZYQ, and out.
At 0135z (at the end of F0S's xmsn) K2Y (good levels) popped up
iwth the 22-character 4WOZYQ, the 28-character 4W5V[ZERO]W, and the
22-character 4WDZYQ and out.
As over the past 10+ years these USN trigraphs bcst unusual
strings (ZBEYGC; not a series heard on the CONUS HFGCS), strings with
odd variations from the same strings heard over time on the CONUS
HFGCS (4W5UVzero]W instead of 4W5V[oscar]W - there are no zeros, ones,
eights and nines in the vast majority of strings heard on HF), and an
unusual string even for the USN bcsts during these events (888800).
And as always in the past the reading of individual characters in the
string(s) can change from xmsn to xmsn.
The 888800 strings are heard very rarely during certain apparent
test events such as during the run-up to Y2K in 1999. The string in
its entirety:
888800 25[india]6[zero][zero]AAE6GG[zero][zero]NNXXZZ8886
888800 25I600AAE6GG00NNXXZZ8886
I suspect that 25[india]600 is actually 251600, and I further
suspect that 1600z on 25 UTC was the start of this current event on HF
(12 Noon US Eeastern Time).
15016.0 was active at 0120z+/- with unknown player (ID went by
too quickly to understand; male opr; good levels) bcsting a
174-character EAM (M456NS).
