Ain't that the truth.
I'd hate to see these weak sisters back in the days of Phantoms, which
were far louder, and kicked out far more visible fumes out the tail,
than any F-15.
I used to spend days at the end of runways, and prided myself in never
blocking my ears, when others around me were.
Pairs of Phantoms screeching off into the wild blue 30 ft over my head
made me come very close, but the one that got me was a KC-135 taking off
fully loaded on a hot day [before they were re-engined].
I blocked my ears under that thing from sheer instinct.
I've lived on and by military air bases for most of my life, and
obviously, people that plan to purchase property anywhere in the
vicinity should be well aware of potential
flight path/noise issues well in advance.
By the way, nothing personal against A-10's, which are great, purpose
built craft, but I'd have me a celebration if my local AFB transitioned
to Eagles.
