Others With Same Opinion Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise!!! Re: [MilCom] Anti-war Activists Call for End to Annual Blue Angels Airshow in S.F

Could very well pass!!! Interestingly at the 50th Vermont Air National
Guard celebration last year, the Burlington Vt mayor basically took the same
stance about all the noise, AFTER the show, and basically seemed to nix any
airshows again while he's in political office.

Also about 6 years ago at Schenectady County Airport in Scotia/Glenville,
New York, the Blue Angels performed, and the aftermath (per someone I know
living in the area) complaining about the noise, traffic, etc. basically has
resulted in NO major military aerobatic team performing at the airshows that
is/was the major annual fund raising event for the Empire State Aeroscience
Museum.

Locally, here in Westfield, MA the 104 FW, is converting from A10's to
F15's -- You would think that the world is coming to an end. Surely,
anyone who lives around an airport or on the approach/departure ends to the
runways should expect some aircraft noise, that's the way it is. Barnes
ANGB has been around since the 1930's, and historically had fighter aircraft
that produced much more noise than the F15's. What I unsuccessfully tried
to do with our local TV stations was to get them to take an indepth look
into the past "noise" and also to really get an understanding about the
typical F15 mission training/operational profile, which basically has the
aircraft taking off and training elsewhere, so you get a burst of noise
perhaps 10 times a day??

If you compare that to Westover JARB (which I live fairly close to), you
have C5 aircraft as well as many visitor aircraft who constantly do ILS
approaches, touch/goes throughout the day and many evenings until
approximately 2130 hrs local. Here's another point. Some of the folks
that lived on the Runway 23 approach zone (Granby MA) actually got a
monetary settlement from the government when the 439th switched from C130 to
C5 aircraft. What's even more interesting is I don't recall anyone on the
Runway 5 approach zone (Chicopee), Runway 15 approach zone (Ludlow), Runway
33 approach zone (S Hadley), getting any money.

So unfortunately, this type of concern/action will continue in the future!!!
