The Air National Guard Crash/Fire Department at Savannah IAP
handles fire protection for not just the ANG facilities, but the
airport as a whole. They use the Chatham-Effingham County TRS
for their primary means of communications, enabling them to work
closely with local fire departments in mutual aid situations (which
they do very well and on a regular basis).
As for Hunter AAF, I have never heard them on the Chatham-
Effingham County TRS. Their communications are on the
400 mhz Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF system. LifeStar One, the
civilian medevac helicopter in Savannah does have access to
the Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF system, though. Hunter's MPs
have shown up on the local 800 system during big events like
the St. Patrick's Day Festival (probably with loaner radios from
the local PD).
