So does anyone know what the specific law(s) (federal, state, local?) is/are
that states that you can't shine a spot light at an aircraft that's flying
over your property and disturbing your peace and quiet? ;)
I do believe there's a law regarding using lasers, under the federal
terrorism law (Patriot Act).

Really got to wonder about the brain power of these individuals who shine
spot lights and/or laser's at aircraft.

KCEF had the same recurring problem (sporadically for about 4 months) about
4 to 5 years ago. The guy was eventually caught by one of the Runway #23
approach area town police (Granby). What's interesting is that there never
was a press release on this as far as federal court action!

Locally --- The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing (West) is located at
Westover Metro KCEF, and now maintains a 24 hour in facility alert status
(rotating with the other 2 locations in MA), so at least in this area, I'm
confident that any such spotlights/laser incidents will result in swift
response & ID since the SP helicopter has many electronic & video enhancing
devices, as well as the radio communications capabilities to talk directly
with any public safety agencies' radio system. However, it doesn't appear
that they've upgraded yet the capability to talk on Westover's new digital
nets.
