Duane & the group:
I believe the book is titled "Blind Man's Bluff" (Sontag & Drew), 1998 --
which is about a submarine actually tapping into an undersea cable in USSR
waters. Another very very interesting book to read.
I'd also recommend the paperback book "Red Star Rogue" -- The untold story
of a Soviet Submarine's Nuclear Strke Attempt on the US.
As I continue to read "Body of Secrets", Bamford discusses the various
monitoring stations, fixed, airborne, & marine that were used in the signal
intelligence collection efforts from pre WWII, WWII, Korean War, Cold War, &
the current war on terrorism.
Gee, as a milcom monitoring hobbyist, it should would be interesting to have
access to some of the radio monitoring equipment that the NSA & it's
military service's have!!!
