[MilCom] Army 23741 Tail Number Reading Difficulties

Some bases' security have a fetish about anyone recording/photographing tail
codes of aircraft and/or helos.

At open houses/air show I've actually taken pictures of ARNG Helos right
next to the aircraft and it's impossible to see the tail number in the
photo!!! I think that basically the tail#'s on those helos are used by
maintenance & the crew to only make sure they are working/crewing the right
helicopter versus the FAA requirement for flying identification!!!! Also
some USAF, USMC, & USN aero assets are also taking on the
dimished/disguished tail# look.

So for those in the hobby "spotting" aircraft/helos, looks like a real
challenge!!!

..snip..snip...

Visits to Army facilities are not always the answer either, braille is the
only way to read the tail-numbers sometimes! If any one has a copy of the
Goldbook more recent than 2001 of course I'd love to have sight of it!
