It is Sat, 6:47pm EDT (2247z).
CG Rescue 2112 (HU-25C out of CGAS Miami) is up with CAMSLANT on 8983z
USB. Pretty terrific comms.
They are in the vicinity of a disabled vessel that needs to be towed
ashore. CG 2112 reports that a large (210-ft) container ship along-side the
striken vessel is offering to take the crew off the disabled vessel, but reports
that the captain of the striken vessel refuses to leave the disabled vessel
behind. The container vessel is willing to take the crew back to Puerto Plata.
The container ship captain has some engineers boarding the disabled vessel
to see if they can assist.
CG Rescue has 45 mikes fuel left and is going to land at Puerto Plata. CG
2112 passes position as 20-10 North, 70-02 West.
CAMSLANT is coordinating between CG 2112 and Sector Puerto Rico.
