"Monitoring Times" magazine's October 2006 edition, 'MILCOM -- Monitoring 
Military Communications" column covers the following:

Primary column focus this month: Monitoring Satellites 101 --  A 
continuation from last month.  Larry Van Horn readily admits that this isn't 
the easiest part of the hobby & requires purchase of some additional 
equipment.  He provides some info also on the easiest satellites to hear, as 
well as continues his dexcription of some additional satellites. 
Interesting reading but IMHO most hobbyists aren't going to get into this 
aspect of the hobby.

Also other information includes:
West Point Update -- VHF Highband Trunking System, surprising find (12 
frequencies listed).
More Milair Frequency Changes -- 18 aero VHF/UHF frequencies changed/updated 
at 5 bases.
HF Civil Air Patrol Frequencies -- 33 frequencies are listed, including the 
ALE designated.
USCG Air Ground HF Frequencies -- 21 frequencies listed
