Hello Jordan:

Well than you basically agree that "REACH" callsign would be a better
callsign to use even if it were
for cabinet, diplomatic, or other high level government transports out of
US/Canada airspace..

Furthermore, why advertise on final approach to any airport that there's a
VIP on board the aircraft?

Also I still have to wonder why most REACH callsigns are part of the tail #
of the aircraft. There's
somewhat of a security fetish about anyone photographing aircraft tail#'s
when aircraft are parked....
Actually part of the mission number could be used as the callsign & this
would further enhance at
least visual OPSEC or the TACC at Scott could basically issue sequence
callsigns based upon
the take off date.

Additionally, I really am still astonished about all the info that's passed
via the GHFS phone patches
to bases. It would seem relatively simple to just give the mission number
to base ops & they would
have ALL the other information. Planes don't gain or loose cargo/pax in
flight (except tactical
parachute delivery) so once they take off from the previous base that info
can readily be transmitted
via the computer network to the destination base.

BTW has anyone every figured out what the suffix added to certain REACH
callsigns mean?
I've heard "T" in the past.

Ken
