Well finally sent a relatively into the big bad city to get me the May 2006
edition "Popular Communications Magazine"

Military communications wise here's what Pop'Comm had covered

"One Giant Leap" -- 'Grab That Scanner & Stand At The Open Door With The
Army's Golden Knights' by Gary Palamara -- 6 pages, 11 pictures, 1 table
(10 possible frequencies).. This is the feature story about the Army
Golden Knights parachute teams, historic to present operations/mission &
takes you on a word description journal of what it's like to jump. The
photos are very good. See Gary's website for some additional airshow photos
http://www.garypalamara.com/Gallery%2004.htm
I'm not sure how active Gary is in monitoring milcom activity... Generally,
photo hobbyists use the radio scanner as a tool aid in their hobby versus
the true milcom monitoring buff.

Rich Arland's "Homeland Security" monthly column looks at "Military Gear For
Emergencies: What's the Hottest" -- 4 pages, 6 pictures... Arland always
deals with the facts, and looks at a variety of workable actual military
comm gear from WW II thru the VietNam War era... Interestingly he mentions
that the PRC-10 (1940's era) was actually used by some Army Naitonal Guard &
Army Reserve Units until the mid 1980's...

Finally the milcom related Steve Douglass last "Utility Communications
Digest" monthly column presents "Out of The Black -- Top Secret Projects
They Want Us to Know About" 6 pages, 7 photos... The article is
interesting, unfortuantely there's no frequencies provided to assist us with
monitoring these "Black Project" activities.
