Hello Allan & the group:
Wonder why the aircraft just didn't do a phone patch via one of the AF
Command Posts that have the
capability on UHF (and some VHF) military aero frequencies?
I don't think (per policy) that military aircraft in the US can normally use
the military HF ground stations
to make phone patches. Remember many years ago with Scott AFB (IL) had a
HF ground station
in the 9 mhz range? This seemed to work out very well for conus based phone
patches.
BTW WUN Club newsletter March 2006 (see:
http://www.wunclub.com/newsletter/v12/n03/roundup.html )
has got an extraction of loggings on various MARS HF freqs that might be of
interest to milcom monitors
