FLIP Information Restrictions Implemented! Re: [MilCom] NGA Link

The short answer here is the site has not gone away cause the final
descision has not been made. It is still there as normal. Problems and
service interruptions have been a common place with this site for several
years now. They are especially common over weekends. In fact, about two
weekends prior to the impending Oct 1 deadline the site went down and I
thought they had dumped it early.

In fact, the final decision to withdraw the publications from the public is
in the final stages of the decision making process. I know they received
some comments, I wrote them direcly and my Congressman also contacted them,
but I feel it may not be enough here to save this resource.

With over 1000 folks on this list if everyone of you had at least written a
response when we first posted this call to arms last year, we would probably
not have this problem. But like many of the issues facing this hobby over
the years (ECPA 1986, Anti-Scanner legislation etc) apathy on the part of
listeners runs rampant. I know if folks pick up the pen instead of
complaining on the list, we doi get a lot more done and it can work.

So bottom line, if you didn't write a comment or contact your fed elected
rep last year, and we lose this resource, look no further than the mirror
for someone to blame. Oh yea, it wasn't published just here on Milcom many
times by Ken, me and others, we also had it in MT and PopComm also had
coverage so the word was out there. No excuses folks.
