[MilCom] 121.500 warning voice

After 9-11, FAA Flight Service Stations recommended to tune the back up VHF
to 121.5 and monitor this frequency.  I still do it whenever I don't need
that radio tuned to another frequency. Once, I heard an ELT.

I spoke to an airline pilot about this (sometime ago) and he told me they
are NOT
required to monitor guard like the military.
