they WANT to search every compartment of EVERY car that comes
on to the base for an airshow?  Hell no, they don't.

What could come in inside a car?  Lasers.  Firearms. 
Explosives. All kinds of unfriendly stuff is small enough to
hide in a car.  

Give 'em a break.

If there are things in vehicles that are of such concern, they should be
detected when the vehicles are entering the base.
