[MilCom] Keeping hand held scanner radio's from tipping over!

For those of us who are 'thrifty', I saw a suggestion awhile back to put
your scanner and handheld radio in the center of a roll of duct/duck tape.
Works for me in the radio room but the wife doesn't like the idea in the
car. :>)
