Hi all,
Just returned from the Blues annual show weekend at
Pensacola Beach, Fl. They've come along way since
Ivan and still have aways to go. Anyway, the Blues
were awesome as usual. My report is as follows:
Wednesday June 29 "Circle and Arrival Maneuvers"
284.250 1 & 2, 3& 4 getting check points
275.350 Boss cadencing commands with 2
305.500 Boss to Mo for WX reports (crap was moving
in) Solos had to wait till Thurs morning for their
flight.
Thursday June 30 "Practice"
284.250 Delta/Solos
275.350 Diamond
305.500 Solos getting check pts around 0900
346.500 Heard 7 in am calling this freq with a maint
squawk.
Friday July 1 "Dress Rehearsal"
284.250 Solos/Delta/Diamond
275.350 Diamond
264.550 Solos/Mo critiquing maneuvers
305.500 Now used by Fat Albert
Saturday July 2
Same as above
Now can someone tell me how on earth they swap between
freqs so quickly. It's almost like aviation
trunking. The reason I listed 284.250 with all 3
elements was because during the flight i hear all 3 on
it at least once. It was like when the solos were on
264.550 the diamond was on 284.250 and when the solos
were on 284.250 the diamond was on 275.350 I am just
wondering how they jump back and forth. I am not
hallucinating because I watched the scanner. Now I
noticed 275.350 was the only freq not used by anyone
but the diamond. In my opinion I like the Blues much
better but the T-birds are easier to monitor. I
didn't have a problem because I'm used to it but was
just wondering how the freqs jumped like that.
Thanks.
Joe
