I have not caught Santa1 on an actual ATC frequency, but understand
he also uses "ELF". I found this out when I was monitoring a
technical glitch in the elf transmission system between an E-6 and
Tinker AFB on 11214 usb DSN-884-8080. It appears Santa's "ELF"
frequencies were overriding transmissions to USN submarines. I am
not sure if Santa was making contact with the subs for delivery of
presents. His dellivery system must be top secret since I have been
unable to find any sort of device in the most recent edition of
Janes' underwater systems.
Further pursuit of the ELF matter should be taken up with an Admiral
Van Horn at the Underwater Communications Center in Maine.
Cheers,
Russell
