Wavy TV 10 reported that on Nov,15
2 F-18's got very close to a Southwest
airlines jet near Norfolk,Int airport
the F-18's jets were 3/4 of a mile away
horizontally and 100 feet vertically from
the SouthWest Jet the Navy pilots said,
"We came nose to nose with a 737.It
suppose to be 3 miles and 100 feet
way off the standard rule.Looks
like the event with not reported to
the FAA by either the Navy or Southwest
airlines but by a anonymous letter which
sounds like to be that it was being
covered up right now with the BRAC
commisson wanting to close NAS Oceana
they would they need anything like this to
happen.NTSB and Southwest are investigating
this near miss.NTSB is calling it a
air traffic controllers error rght now.
The F-18's were from New Orleans in the area
for training at NAS Oceana dont know which
squadron the were from.
