I think you need some patience here Tom. While the LA Guard is in NOLA now
they are apparently using their VHF lo band and satellite comm links radios.
No need to use HF at the Superdome when you can see the fellow your talking
to. I am sure at some point we will see HF circuits come up for backup
longhaul, but as I have said repeatedly here and on WUN, HF will not be the
primary comm spectrum during a natural disaster. Your problem is local and
therefore your communication environment will be local as well.
Your best bet is to be patient and do a lot of tuning around.
