[MilCom] News: KCEF Breaks Ground $3.7M Security Facility

local Newspaper "Chicopee Register", 9/9/04 edition reports the following:
"Westover Breaks Ground for $3.7 million Facility"
*Ground breaking ceremony, Rep Neal, Olver, etc.
*New Security Forces Operational Facility
*21,300 square feet (double size of present facility)
*Facility will include Offices, training areas, & storage.
*Squadron performs many duties, including secrutiy at WJARB and around the
world for the base's C5's.
*(snip), various dignitaries comments (snip)
*Will take a little more than a year to build.
*Building now in is was built in 1941 and is part of base's historic core,
so it will be rehabbed for other tenants.
*WARB has had over $40 million in the recent past to include a new control
tower as well as a Marine resesrve training center.
*WJARB is 2,500 acres of land.
Other security projects in the past have included new fencing, base wide
public address system, & sensor systems upgrades.
I understand that the security force radio communications systems will also
be upgraded in the future.
