Hello Group , I have received an aircraft working a ground station with comm. checks using voice and digital on 234.5 mhz. As most of you know this is the militarys equivalent to the civilian 123.45mhz . The stations are usually heard on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning around 0400 to 0600 UTC. The aircrafts callsign is "Cobra 49" and the ground stations is Greenwood or Greenville Foxtrot but is called Foxtrot most of the time. I cannot copy the ground station , only the aircraft. The aircraft is flying what he calls an "orbital pattern" and checks in with the ground station at points " Charlie" , "Delta" and "Echo" . The orbits take around 30 minutes to complete. I fell like this is a contractor testing equipment but may be military. I am located in East Texas close to the Louisiana border and these transmissions maybe comming from around the Houston or Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area . I cannot get a fix on the signal because my vhf-uhf mil-band quad and other beam type of antennas are down at this time. I have monitored most of the Houston , DFW and Memphis Center frequencies and none have worked Cobra 49 while this aircraft is at altitude. If anyone has any information regarding this or receives these stations please email me at n5wv at eastex.net . Thanks , Randy N5WV
