Jeff et al,

The 678 DSN according to my list serves the Navy Reserve units at NRB New 
Orleans.

Yesterday I had Omni 17 (CG C-130 # 1718) operating on a drug patrol off the 
northern coast of Colombia & Venezuela working with the US Navy FFG Boone.

Maybe the Omni ## callsign is a special activity calsign used by CG & Navy 
aircraft when they are on counter-drug ops.
