[MilCom] interesting internet traffic ???

As a general rule, I take unsolicited connect attempts
fairly seriously regardless of where they come from.
Until I actually installed the firewall, I had only
an inkling of how often this happens. 99% of the time,
what I see in those attempts as far as IP's shows up
within the next few days attached to some spam of some
sort. These get obliterated. :-)

However, I have lately had a couple that most decidedly
will NOT show up attached to some spam. Well, let's say
I'd be REAL surprised if it did. :-)

Thing I don't understand is why the heck they're picking
on ME. I suspect that a lot of folks here, like myself,
are somewhat judicious about what we actually DO post.
There is a line that I will NOT go beyond, and I don't think
that anything that I have written here even comes close
to that line.

One "item" logged with a name and phone number attached, and
I intend to contact this person and find out WHY; and at
the same time to express a certain concern about this sort
of activity. After some email about a website that allegedly
encourages us to report what we hear, and I raised questions
about doing so, then some gov't IP starts banging on the
firewall. Kinda irritates me. You'd think these people
have better things to do with their time and our tax dollars.
