What a WACKER!!! LOL
Actually I was running the Fire Command post out of our rescue truck for the
traffic detail assisting our police dept. I heard the chatter on both our
local regional frequency as well as on national. I heard the suspicous
vehicle and its description. I immediately thought of you and was wondering
if you were the one they were referring to.
I guess I was right. This is hilarious. However you should have had a
black suburban or something. Your little green car doesn't quite cut it as
a true wackermobile.
Later,
Scott

Subject: Potus visit; SE PA logs
Hi All; Sorry for the late posting of the 7-9-04 Potus visit to Kutztown,
PA.
I parked at the Kutztown airport and was sporting 5 trunk mounted antennas &
4 roof mounted antennas. I had 5 scanners and 3 ham radios in the car.I was
not there no 15 minutes when the K-town police pulled in behind me. The
officer said you must be the suspicious vehicle that was reported, so I have
to check you out. What are you doing with all that radio equipment? I told
him I was an Amateur radio operator and that listening to radio comms was my
hobby and that I was listening to the combat air patrols and the other
associated comms with a Potus visit. He checked my driver's license, and
upon returning he asked if I had any weapons in the car. I said no, but I do
carry a set of flares if I come upon an accident or if I get disabled and
they are in the trunk. I had to open it and that's when he saw I was wearing
a Secret Service shirt. He asked if I was with the SS, I replied no, but I'm
not so sure he believed me. After showing him the trunk contents he ran his
hand under all my wheel wells on the car - I asked if he would like to look
under the hood - he said no and told me to have a great day and I told him
to do the same. While this was happening. 2 Blackhawk helos landed way down
at the end of the runway; one was to park permanently, the other took off
just before Potus's motorcade rolled into town and used the callsign
"BlackCat". There was a guy cutting grass at the airport and just before
these helos came in, he started a small plane up to move it away from the
runway where he was cutting and parked it at the hangar, just as the
Blackhawks landed. Later, he came over to the car and said did you think I
was going to take off?, I said oh no, he said well you called in those
Blackhawks because you thought I was going to take off. He saw my SS shirt
while he was cutting grass near my car. I told him I was not with the SS,
but he said that's OK, I see you want to keep a low profile. LOL! LOL!

I noticed there were no comms with Bandsaw for the comms over Harrisburg
where the Harras a/c were flying; they talked to Huntress all of the
time. While at Kutztown, there were at least 5 intrusions into the airspace
upon which the Cosmics called the a/c on 121.5 and said to change to a
certain heading or you may be fired upon. One a/c did not respond and
Bandsaw called BlackCat and said to shadow him as he's just at the fringe of
the restricted area; and on the news they showed the Blackhawk helo
following the a/c into Smoketown airport where they questioned the pilot.
