Well I give up. Whats done is done. I and others think you made an
embarrassing blunder,and you don't.
I can hardly believe that anyone here is afraid to express their view of
support for you, worried that they'll get flamed.
My guess would be that here you have the more hard-core guys who have
been in the monitoring hobby for years and, indeed, many of whom are ex
servicemen.
I'm a 14 year Marine Corps veteran.
The people mailing you offering words of support are likely dweebs you
troll in from the scanner newsgroups, who think its really, really cool
that such communications can be overheard.
Most of us here know the types of off the cuff remarks than can be
overheard.
I used to monitor off the wall conversations on a daily basis from
presidents, vice presidents , secretaries of states and visiting
dignitaries on the good old mystic star network years ago, before it all
went to satcom.
I've heard the Blues and T-birds using 4 letter words,I've heard them
being goofy and mockingly singing the Star Spangled Banner, and got a
chuckle out of it.
It never crossed my mind to run to the usenet and report what I heard.
If I may put it bluntly - Idle gossip is not very manly.
Thats my opinion.
Especially the closing words 'Listen..and be amazed..As I was ..."
Struck me as something from the National Enquirer, and certainly are not
words becoming of a responsible communications enthusiast.
Since your 'trash talking blues audio link' is still up,and it seems you
have no intentions on taking it down, how about balancing it out with
another link on your page, detailing the anger and controversy you've
caused with your Blues snitch ?
After all, don't 'reporters of facts' strive to maintain a balanced view ?
One things for sure - The next time I chat with a Blue, and I've chatted
with quite a few over the years,I will certainly not have the gall to
inquire about the freqs they use,as I have done in the past.
