Rohn,

Alpha codes are maintenance status codes on landing.  It's been a few years 
since I was in maintenance but this is what they used to mean.

Alpha One - Fully mission capable (everything works)

Alpha Two - Partially mission capable (A few minor problems, not mission 
critical)

Alpha Three - Non-mission capable (This thing ain't goin' anywhere)
