The following events are scheduled in the Grand Rapids area end of May, June 2005, and
beyond. Anyone interested are welcome at these events.

FOX HUNT (transmitter hunt) Friday, May 27.
Mark it on your calendar we will be doing the first KCARPSC sponsored Fox hunt on Friday May
27 WHICH IS OPEN TO EVERYBODY.
We will be on 2 meters and will meet at the Meijers/Wendys parking lot at
the East Beltline (Hwy M-44) and Knapp. We will have a prize for the winner of this event.
Cost for this one is free, future dates might be a 2.00 entry to cover the cost of the
prize. Bring a friend, you do not have to be a member of the ARPSC to play. Jeff N8JSN

It is unclear about the June DAPR (Downtown Amateur Packet Radio Group of Grand Rapids)
meeting conflicting with the hamfest. Normally on the Saturday following the first Friday
(June 4) 08:00, at New Beginnings Restaurant, 1455 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids MI.

National 24 Hour (Bicycle) Challenge (N24HC) is Saturday, June 18, day before Father's Day.
Amateur Radio volunteers are needed for the check points, vehicles, etc. This event starts /
finishes at Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School in Midland, the course goes throughout Barry
County. To do your part for public service, contact the Ham Radio Crew Chief Jack NY8D

Annual Field Day weekend is June 25 and 26.
GRARA held at QTH of John Meyer K8IHY, 1840 Byron Rd, Hudsonville, Ottawa County. 84th St in
Kent County changes to Byron Rd as you head West into Ottawa County. DO NOT let the fact
this event is held at a field at someone’s residence deter you from visiting or
participating.

Kent County RACES / ARES held at Grand Rapids Township Park, behind the Gtand Rapids
Township offices on East Beltline across from the Knapp’s Corner Meijer.

West Michigan Traffic Net meets Wednesday and Friday evenings at 9pm on 145.27-(94.8Hz) and
Sundays at 9PM on 147.16+(94.8Hz). The purpose of this net is to handle NTS Traffic coming
into West Michigan. All are welcome to check in. We also are an inlet for outgoing traffic
as well.
The other net is the informal 6mtr AM net that meets every Sunday  from 8-9am. This net
originates in Grand Rapids.

The Michigan DX Association (MDXA) 2 meter net that is held every
Tuesday evening, 9PM, on the 145.270-(94.8Hz) LARC/W8LRC repeater.
