The following events are scheduled in the Grand Rapids area July 2004 and beyond, including
Independence Day Weekend. Anyone interested are welcome at these events.

OPERATION C.A.R.E. Coffee Stop is this Independence Day Holiday Weekend at the Rockford Rest
Area on SB US131 between M-46 Cedar Springs exit 104 and M-57 Greenville exit 101. Sponsored
by the Michigan State Police, MARA, and GRARA. Shifts are still in need of volunteers.

The next meeting of the Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association (GRARA) is Friday, July 2,

DAPR, the Downtown Amateur Packet Radio Group of Grand Rapids, meets for breakfast the
Saturday after the first Friday of each month, July 3, at 8AM. New Beginnings Restaurant,
1455 Michigan St NE. Use the Fuller exit (turn south) off of  I-196 then go east on
Michigan.  "Talk-in" is on 146.760/R.  Anyone

The next Hwy road side cleanup will be Tuesday, July 6th. Help is needed. If you can help
meet at the car pooling lot at M57 and 131, at 6:30pm. We will make assignments from there.
In case of rain, it will be held on Thursday, July 8th. You know many hands make the work

Friday July 9, Saturday July 10. The Michigan Antique Radio Club is proud to announce our
19th annual EXTRAVAGANZA convention, which will be held at the fabulous Holiday Inn South
Convention Center in Lansing Michigan.  The primary activities related to this year's
convention will take place on Friday, July 9th and Saturday, July 10th.  However, as has
been the case in the past, there will be activities on Thursday evening, July 8th.  Last
year over 1000 attendees from nearly 30 states and a number of foreign countries, as close
as Canada and as far as Australia, enjoyed the festivities. Our theme this year will be
ZENITH where we will be celebrating the best marketed and longest lived of the radio

Monthly summer WODJ-FM / Cidadel Broadcasting transmitter site cleanup, our agreement for
hosting the W8LRC 145.27-(94.8Hz) repeater, is Wednesday July 14, 7PM, Lincoln Lake Ave, 6
Miles north of Lowell just past 3 Mile Rd. Bring whatever yard cleaning tools you can.

West Michigan Traffic Net meets Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday nights at 9pm on
145.27. The purpose of this net is to handle NTS Traffic coming into West Michigan. All are
welcome to check in. We also are an inlet for outgoing traffic as well.
The other net is the informal 6mtr AM net that meets every Sunday  from 8-9am. This net
originates in Grand Rapids.
