Although I probably have not been real active in the MI Packet network on
145.76
I do check into the Lapeer EOC MSYS and find that there are no new messages,
no new traffic, no new users, etc.

After reading a bit about Winlink, I find it hard to believe that after the
"featureless"
MSYS, the state EOC's would go to another system that is mail based and with
no other features that I would consider a benefit.
Features like:
Announce where the announcement goes to everyone
                 who is connected,
Talk where two users who are connected can talk to each other,
Chat with chat groups where a group or groups of users can have
their own chat conference (like JNOS or MIRC),
WX weather announcement that can be used for WX alerts, an
alert when a user has new mail, etc.,
Users can use any Packet Terminal program from YAPP to
HyperTerminal - anything that talks to a TNC,
The BBS / node software runs on Windows or Linux,
It's customizable for how you want to use it,
and .....
It's free.

Yep ..... It's totally beyond me.
