Subject: [KYHAM] Amber Alert Cancelled

Hello to all,

As I stayed up most of the night, and have been sleeping some this
morning.. I am now aware that the little girl was found in the stolen car=

in Huntington, W V. She was not hurt.... :-) :-)

Again I wish to thank everyone for passing out the word via repeaters and=

email. Jeff Clark, K8JAC, the EC for Kanawha County in Charleston, WV wa=
s
amazed at the emails that came to him as well from KYHAM members.

I do want to stress one thing here. This Amber Alert which involved the
hams in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky and others was as a direct
request from the US Marshall and the W V State Police. We always need =
to
remember to act when asked and not to take it upon ourselves to just be
helpful.

The reports I recieved this morning via email indicated the spelling of t=
he
child's name was incorrect in my emails and was incorrect in the official=

wording from the BOLO from West Virginia and the US Marshall. Spelling
errors do occur even from the press and law enforcement. I appreciate th=
e
forward with the news report from WCHS.

Again, thank you all for your help. Also, I just heard on the news in a=

brief statement that the 2nd escapee from Kentucky has been caught. No
details were given. This was on WLEX Channel 18.

73 !

it's so neat to see ham radio working together with the local police.
