Tonight, Tuesday, about 11:30 pm I recieved a phone call from Jeff
Clark,K8JAC, the ARES EC of Kanawha County in Charleston, West Virginia. =

He had been contacted by the US Marshall's office in conjunction with the=

WV State Police in regards to a car theft and abduction. He was requeste=
d
to get the word out to as many hams as possible in as many connecting
states as possible about this abduction and car theft. He called this th=
e =

" AMBER ALERT".

I got on our 444.125 and linked it up to as many frequencies as I could t=
o
hit some of the repeaters that are programmed into the remote base. Thi=
s
is the QST:

At approximately 10 pm tonight in Barboursville, West Virginia .. a 1988
Blue chevy cavalier with a black convertible top was stolen.
Inside the car was an 8 year old little girl. Her name is Ashley Nicole
Wolford. She has blonde hair and was wearing stonewashed jeans and a pin=
k
top. The License number is: WV plate 5DJ 732

The car was seen heading down Interstate 64 headed west... and was last
seen around the Kentucky state line. There is a suspician that the perso=
n
who stole the car and abducted the child may be the remaining Kentucky ja=
il
escapee. They are speculating on this but he was seen in Ashland recentl=
y
at the time of the other escapee's capture and was seen in Marion County =
in
Ohio. There are several states involved in hunting this guy and of cour=
se
now we are looking at this abduction of the child. Kentucky, Ohio, West
Virginia, Indiana, and South Carolina are all involved.

Please get this out to as many hams as possible and anyone with 11 meter
capabilities to do the same to get it out to as many truckers and 4 wheel=
er
folks who use 11 meters.

That is all I have right now. I will be in contact with Jefff Clark
tomorrow for updates... if any.

Please keep your eyes open.. And be careful... if the escapee... he is
armed.
