You can use the ALS-600 on AM, but the rated carrier power would only 
be about 100-125 watts. Drive power would typically be about 10 watts 
or so, depending on amp gain.

Adjust the drive power for 100 watts or so carrier, and don't go over 
500 watts or so PEP on the ALS-600 meter when talking. The ratio of 
carrier to peak power with 100% modulated AM is 1 to 4 .
