The carrier power of any amp. is restricted on AM to one fourth the peak
envelope output power. The ALS-600 will put out about 150 watts AM maximum.
    Do Not use the ALC to control power, put the ALC fully in the clockwise
position and use the exciter output power to restrict input power until you
get peaks of 150 watts on full modulation and one fourth power of that on
carrier without modulation.
    You should get a manual from Ameritron which will explain this in
detail. They are free for the asking, just e-mail them with a request. They
may have a manual you can download in .pdf format.
