I have a mfj-817 uhf/vhf meter. I have had it for over a year with no problems, last time I was on the radio was 2 days ago and the meter worked fine. I turned on the radio today and keyed up only to find that I had a very high swr reading [1:5], on both my antennas. Checked all the coax cables running inline with the meter/radio, they were all ok. Took out the meter and found I could tx & rx ok on all the local repeaters, were as when the meter was inline I could not rx or tx at all. So I know it is the meter that is causing this problem. What is wrong here? Can it be fixed? I have opened up the meter and found nothing out of the ordinary. I would like to fix this myself. It will cost me more to have it repaired than to buy a new one. Can anyone help me with my problem? Please e-mail me off line at [email protected]
