[Meteor-Scatter] Region 1 ONLY

Hi Enrico,

I have now received 40+ emails from UK operators and others in DL, OH, OZ &
PA expressing similar views, which incidentally I concur with.

I hope to be in Vienna (or at the very least put in a paper that puts
contrary views to the paper by G3VZV) and will defend the spectrum for
weak-signal terrestrial usage.

>From experience there will be numerous societies against this proposal and I
don't think there will be any mileage in it.

It is quite likely though that the IARU Region 1 VHF Committee will discuss
where this linear transponder downlink could possibly fit within the 144MHz
band (or not).

But we do need to discuss it in a democratic way first.

By the way - the Vienna meeting is simply that - a meeting - at which no
changes can be made.

It is only at the 3-yearly IARU Region 1 conference in Sept 2008 that any
changes could be implemented.

Regards,
David G4ASR
