Perseids activity from JP51 (and JP41) from August 8-14, 2005
This years Perseids we will operate 144 MHz MS from JP51BQ, using the
callsign LA0BY/p. I will again be accompanied by Ulli (DL3YEL). The site is
north of Ringebu at about 900 m asl where we will stay in a cottage with
access to 230 V. This will make it possible to operate with decent power
from the 2 x 4CX250B amplifier. The antenna will be 2 x 9-ele-yagis. We may
have occasional access to the Internet from the main site, but can probably
also be reached by SMS (+47-90114432).
We will stay on the frequency 144,188 MHz for both sked and random operation
in HSCW/SSB. In HSCW we will transmit with 1500 lpm, using 2,5 min periods
and the callsign will be abbreviated to LATBYP. In SSB we will use 1 min
periods with breaks every 10-15 s. We will transmit the first (even) period.
For WSJT operation (only random outside the maximum) we will use 144,388
MHz. A special advise for WSJT: Make sure your QSO is complete (we will
transmit final RRR with parts of your call).
Likely beaming schedule during the shower peak:
Date Time (UTC) QTF Mode Frequency
12.8. 1400-1600 SW SSB 144,188 MHz
12.8. 1600-1800 S
12.8. 1800-2000 E
12.8. 2000-2200 SE
12.8. 2200-2400 SSE
13.8. 0000-0200 S
Limited activity from JP41: We plan to set up a second station in JP41
during the peak of the shower. That station will use the callsign
LA/DL3YEL/p and operate on other frequencies. Please monitor the DX-Cluster
for actual frequency and info.
On the evening of August 9 we shall participate in the Nordic Activity
Contest on 70 cm.
