I guess the problem comes from the fact that moving off a known frequency
involves the danger that you loose the contact.

Being a fairly 'poor' station (9 element yagi and 150 Watts) any added
possibility of something going wrong is something I would like to avoid.
Add that to the fact that I'm also new to Meteor Scatter, and you may see
why I might be a bit jumpy about altering anything once I've started a
contact...

The other problems that I can see in the "two frequency" idea are 1) Letting
everyone know - How long will it take for people to catch up with the
change? Especially as it's already obvious that the existing procedures are
not known by some people and 2) the increase in interference from the "Band
Police" - Those people who take it upon themselves to cause further
interference by insisting on telling others that they are doing it wrong.
In fact, you might even get two types of "Band Police" - One enforcing the
old rules, and one enforcing the new...

Remember, not everyone has internet access and books/magazines take a long
time to get through. Plus, even if you have internet access, you may not
spot the changes until sometime later.
