Hi Erwin

Yes I do this already.

I removed the small Molex connector that would normally allow connection
of the atu. 

Place a small copper sheet with 2 x SMA conn's in it's place, you will
find the VHF rx input is on a plug/socket right behind this place.

It is possible to make the modification entirely reversible with no
modification to the radio at all.

For normal use just link the 2 sma's together.
