[Meteor-Scatter] WINMSDSP2000 com port problems

I have just built a new PC and I am having problems getting winmsdsp to
access to com port for automatic ptt. I am using Win98 SE as all the
websites indicate that this OS still allows direct access to the com ports.
WSJT and cwtype both work well on the same machine in conjunction with a
Rigblaster which I bought for convenience sake.

Can anyone shed any light on this matter?
