Sent to BaCo ACS Teams...
** UPDATE 1223 HOURS 2016-01-22 ***
Hello all,
As the storm develops - The Baltimore County EOC will open at Level 1 on Friday afternoon. BACO ACS is on alert. Team Members please monitor the county rally frequencies, BaCo 4 (analog FM), BaCo 7 (Digital), BaCo 45 (DMR), throughout the incident in preparation for a deployment, however unlikely, and please be prepared to provide neighborhood situational awareness reports.
This is a reminder to all BaCo ACS Team Members to secure their families and property, ensure all vehicles have at minimum a 1/2 tank of gas and stock provisions (food and water) for at minimum 4 days.
The forecast has changed slightly. NWS has revisited their predictions for significant snow accumulations. They are forecasting near or full blizzard conditions for late Friday afternoon into early Sunday morning.
Snow accumulations of 18 to 24 inches are expected in the eastern suburbs of Baltimore...and 24 to 30 inches in the western and northern suburbs. The city of Baltimore is expected to receive around 24 inches.
Timing...heavy snow will develop Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday night. Conditions are expected to deteriorate Friday evening with the heaviest snow... strongest winds...and potential life threatening conditions expected Friday night through Saturday.
Please stay off the roads. However, if you are called upon to deploy, however unlikely, remember to ensure your family and property are secure and please do not feel obligated to deploy if you are uncomfortable leaving your family or venturing out. When you do take to the road drive carefully and base you speed and route on road conditions. If at all possible, when en-route to your assignment, avoid side roads staying on main arteries which will be treated and plowed before side roads.
Be safe and please do not venture out during the storm unless it is absolutely necessary.
Joe
