Hi, this is just a quick heads-up to let you know that the Rock & Roll
Marathon here in DC is asking for our help next month (16 March). The event
really seems to want our help, I've heard from the National Medical
Director, the Medical Manager for this event, and the race's technical
coordinator.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 16. We'd be setting up most
stations around 6am - 6:30. We should be secured from all operations around
1pm. If you can only afford to volunteer for part of the time, we can still
probably work you in.

They've asked us to staff the medical tents and aid stations, along with
NetControl, DC/HSEMA, and a couple of others. We'll need about 20-22
operators to make this work effectively.

I expect that we'll operate this using 2M repeaters. An HT can work from
most of the sites but would certainly benefit from a more powerful antenna.

Eventually, I hope that we can coordinate signup on the Marathon's web site,
http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/usa/volunteer It still needs to be setup
to accept radio operators.

Please forward this to anyone that you think might be interested in helping.

Anyone who can volunteer to help or needs more info can contact me at

Thanks,
