Allegany County: Allegany ARES ran in standby mode with 16 operators in
support of and by request of Allegany County Emergency Management during
the November 21 hospital re-location transition. This included the manning
of Amcom 1, our communications bus on location at the new hospital and
mobile units standing by at the two other hospital sites.
Baltimore County: BaCo ACS completed tallying activity associated with the
October SET. The group's total point score is 310. We deployed personnel to
the County EOC and four supported facilities. Facility Emergency
Preparedness Managers, who were onsite at their facilities during the
deployment stage of the SET, prepared injects for the exercise based on the
scenario's simulated timeline. On November 19, Franklin Square Hospital,
one of our supported facilities, hosted a flu clinic for our volunteers. In
all 20 of our volunteers received their seasonal flu vaccinations. The
remaining volunteers have or will be receiving the vacccination from other
sources. The installation of the W3DHS D-Star repeater system, voice and
data, will be delayed until January. The 2M and 1.25CM modules are on back
order from ICOM. BaCo ACS is continuing to test and rollout MT63 and
Tone63. We are on schedule to begin testing of WINLINK during the 1st
Quarter of 2010. CQ's Public Service Editor, Richard Fisher, profiles the
Baltimore County Auxiliary Communications Service in December's issue of
CQ. Turn to page 44 to read all about it. If you don't subscribe to CQ you
can pick up a copy at Barnes and Nobles and Borders Book Sellers. Copies of
the article will be posted on the group's web site, bacoacs.info, following
receipt of reproduction permission from the magazine's publisher.
Washington DC: Working with the Federal City React and ServeDC (CERT).

Continuing discussion with fellow DC hams regarding possible ARES
repeaters. Beginning to work on preparations for the National Marathon
event in March.

EU2000I generator to support emergency communications.
