Rich-

I have some connector shells and contacts that I used for my synthesizer box 
(and other projects) that you are welcome to try if you wish.  I have 
several different types of shells for various number of contacts, e.g. 1, 2, 
4, 8 contacts by one contact wide.  They plug onto the standard header pins 
on the Arduino board.

I also have insulation displacement connectors for 2x7 ribbon cable, and 
ribbon cable, if you have such an interface.
