I have put some pictures of the Arduino with the Si570 out on the TEC website - http://home.att.net/~geobra/cfr.html . The Arduino and Si570 links toward the bottom will lead you to the pictures. If we could develop a through hole version of the Si570 board I think it would make a great project for a future workshop.
I see the April 19th workshop as having 2 aspects: soldering and computing. The soldering side will help people build their Barebones board. It is pretty simple. There is one SMT inductor, which is not necessary to include, and the rest is normal through hole construction. Once people get the board built then they can start learning how to write programs for them and load
programs into them using the computers. My thinking is that if I hand some of them out at breakfast on the 5th, people who don't need help with soldering can get them built up ahead of time and spend most of the workshop on the computer end of things. Hopefully McHUG will become a place where we can talk about our progress with the Arduinos and get help on problems we run into.
So next Saturday for breakfast I will bring some of the BareBones Board kits with me. For McHUGgers the going rate in terms of money, will be free, but in terms of time, heed the words of Pete from oh dark thirty in the morning. Let me know if you're interested in getting together for breakfast. So far I've heard from Frank. So if I don't hear from anyone else it will be at Denny's in Eldersburg.
