Folks;

Last week we were discussing (over dinner) the possibility of creating a Linux
live bootable CD-ROM with all the AVR development tools already on it. Turns
out that it's already been done.

Some folks at MIT have developed a small microcontroller project called "Number
6" (how do they name these things??) that includes a Ubuntu 7.10 live CD-ROM
with the AVR development tools already on it. You can stick this CD-ROM into
any modern PC, and boot into a Linux OS with all the AVR tools at hand. The PC
would not require any pre-existing OS on its hard disk.

Have a look at http://six.media.mit.edu:8080/6

Note - This probably does NOT include the ARDUINO tools.

I have a copy of the CD to play with, which I will try to do so in the next
couple days. I'll let you all know what I find out.
