I noticed on WB6DHW's web site that he has another DDS in the works. It uses the Analog Devices AD9912 DDS chip and PIC18F2550 controller with USB interface, and may be set up for "stand alone operation with an external LCD, rotary encoder and switches with additional controller firmware." Sounds like what Rich is looking for, for his digital VFO.
