I’m sure I can fix u up with some copper. You might look at “folded dipole as it takes up 1/2 the distance. What radio did u use?I bet it was on CW.I have some ARRL antenna books you can borrow.mike

Subject: Re: [MCARC] Wire to share
I had my first own HF rig QSO last weekend. Fun, I've been missing the fun. I was walking the property yesterday afternoon and just don't see a way of putting up an 80 meter dipole. So, last evening I began looking for 80M homebrewing plans. I found a couple that might work within my space limitations. Both have coils. One specifies #18 or #20 gauge wire. That made me think of this email which I found in my trash. I am wondering if the 18 gauge wire is available. Plan calls for 123 turns but doesn't specify coil diameter only length of 5.12 inch and other calls for 78 turns on 50mm diameter.

I have a surplus of wire that I would share if you have the need for any.1. 24 gauge audio cable 2 conductor + shield (good for mic cable etc).2. 24 gauge solid plastic coated (good for temp or internal antennas radials ) RED3. 16 gauge zip cord brown in color.4. 18 gauge solid (yellow in color).Let me know if you need some and I will see how I may help.
