[MarinTeams] Lithium Batteries

Been reading the comments.

Lithium batteries have advantages but the major caveat and warning is to
NEVER OVERCHARGE THEM. If you try you'll have a fire. One should not
swap out lead acid batteries with lithium batteries; the charging
systems are totally different.

If you don't believe me find a book titled "Bottled Lightning". It is
the story of the development of lithium batteries. Each chapter ends
with "and then the laboratory burned to the ground."

I've found a couple of lithium battery systems that integrate charge
management. One system is presently keeping a Contra Costa County
public safety radio site on the air, but it's 48 V.

Just found a really good article about lithium batteries and could scan
and share that if interested.
